07 — Subsidiary expression

One envelope. Three colour layers.

Subsidiaries share one structural envelope — governed by the Digital Architecture Standards — and fill a small set of permitted variables. Colour identity stacks in three layers; the partner layer is scoped, never global.

Layer 1

CBC base

The envelope. Always on — owns the chrome: nav, footer, layout, system states.

Layer 2

Subsidiary accent

The subsidiary’s own colour. Defaults to CBC Blue until it defines its own — so an undifferentiated subsidiary just reads as CBC emea.

Layer 3

Partner brand

Belongs to the partner. Scoped to that partner’s own surfaces only — it never appears outside them. Partner colours are not centralised here; each is declared at its own surface. Multiple partners means multiple scoped surfaces, one rule.

SCOPED · per partner surface

Worked example

CBC Surveillance

No own accent defined yet — its accent defaults to CBC Blue, so it reads as pure CBC emea. When a partnership surface launches, the partner’s colour leads inside that surface only; CBC chrome (nav, footer) stays unchanged throughout. The partner colour never leaks beyond its scoped surface.
