08 — Patterns

CBC patterns.

Five geometric, token-driven backgrounds for surfaces that need character without decoration.

Restraint principle. A brand pattern is background texture — present enough to give a surface character, invisible enough that no one can name it. All five patterns are geometric and quiet; they signal a technology company without being playful or obnoxious. Each uses a single token-driven colour at very low opacity so they adapt to light and dark themes and accept a subsidiary accent with one CSS variable change.

Patterns

Fine line grid
Document layouts, data-dense interfaces — quiet alignment cue.
Dot grid
Presentation backgrounds, hero sections — softer than a line grid.
Fine diagonal hatch
Feature banners, print collateral — adds directionality without weight.
Subtle isometric grid
Technology content, infographic panels — signals precision and depth.
Razor-blade motif
Brand hero areas only — the wildcard; references the mark directly.

All previews use --pattern-line (Rhino @ 7% on light; white @ 8% on dark). Toggle dark mode to see both themes. The razor-motif is the only pattern derived from the CBC mark — use it in brand hero areas only.
