02 — The mark

The mark.

LOCKUP · razor “CBC” mark + “emea” wordmark

The logo is a razor blade — chosen to signify cutting-edge technology, and carried ever since. The full lockup pairs the razor “CBC” mark with the “emea” wordmark bottom-right: the wordmark sits to the right of the mark, baseline aligned to the mark’s bottom edge, and always matches the mark’s fill colour. The same rule applies to subsidiaries that use the razor as their primary mark. It is the company’s single most recognisable asset; treat it as load-bearing.

▲ Do
  • Keep clear space — at least the blade’s height on every side
  • Use approved versions: CBC Blue, Rhino, white, or single-colour black
  • Keep “emea” locked in position relative to the mark
▼ Don’t
  • Recolour outside the brand palette
  • Distort, rotate, or add effects
  • Recreate it — always use the supplied file

Clear space & minimum size

Clear space — maintain a minimum clear zone equal to the blade’s full height on all four sides. No other graphic element, text, or edge of a surface may enter this zone.

Minimum size — the mark must never appear at less than 24px tall in digital contexts (where the “C,B,C” letterforms must remain legible), or 15mm in print. Below these sizes, use the mark alone without the wordmark.

On-light / on-dark

CBC mark on dark — white razor, CBC Blue textON DARK — white razor + CBC Blue text

The typeface inside the mark is unidentified, and used only within the logo — never as a heading or body face. If the wordmark ever needs extending, treat the letterforms as custom lettering.
